RiverStone Condo Resort & Spa

This review is for the Two Bedroom Penthouse, river view. We were charged an additional cleaning fee before we even walked in the door, the only explanation being they raised the rates since we booked. Five out of seven power outlets in the kitchen didn't work. The AC units are so weak they had to put several additional window units into the room to keep it under 80 degrees during the daytime. They don't enforce their non smoking policy at all, plenty of people smoking throughout the facility, in the halls and out at the lazy river area. The washing machine is covered in mold and smelled nasty. On the plus side the view from the room was amazing. The furniture both in the room and the on the deck were in excellent condition. The cleaning crew did a great job, the room was spotless when we arrived. The place itself is well located, being right on top of a bunch of attractions and many good restaurants. The lazy river is nice and well maintained, the indoor pool was OK, though they definitely needed to clean it more often throughout the day to keep the bugs out (they had windows and doors open for a nice breeze). Overall this place was not worth what I paid for it and I'm disappointed.

The group sales team day of event is phenomenal! Amy Johns was there for set up and to get the event started. April, now that lady is a Godsend. She was there for tech support and then was there through the end taking care of things throughout the event so that by the time the event was over, it was the easiest break down ever. I highly recommend dealing with these 2 individuals. So kind and willing to make sure that everything went off the way we envisioned. Kudos!

So I decided to take a solo birthday trip to the Smoky mountains. I’ve been to Tennessee plenty of times but never to Pigeon Forge. Let me tell you something, I was shocked!!! Stimulation overload with so many things to do!! The resort is in a perfect location. You’re not far from everything but you get a sense of calmness when you enter the grounds. Check in was easy and simple. Cookies and coffee waiting for you upon arrival. Definitely a place to go solo or with the family. The resort offers a spa and wellness services for couples or adults. There’s a lazy “river” on the grounds as well as an indoor pool. My favorite thing was the bubbling river on the grounds. Nice to sit on the balcony and watch the ducks along the banks resting. I felt away from the noise but able to jump in by walking or driving off the grounds of the resort. The condo was perfect with a nice king bed fitted with cool linen. Great kitchen for preparing meals. Full size appliances to take care of the needs of a family. Man, was that air conditioning just right! I loved my stay and plan on doing a repeat!

You are renting a specific condo unit, so cancelations and changes might be a bit more stringent then a normal hotel. The front desk people weren't of much help when asking about the area. We tried booking the spa about 2 weeks ahead of our visit, as that is when they become available and it was mostly booked. Place only has a small indoor pool, and of course will be run by the kids. Outdoor lazy river, but no lounge chairs to relax at. Even the holiday inn has an outdoor pool with lounge chairs. Then they called at 10am which is check out time, I said we are loading the car and will be out in 10-15 minutes. I came back up after taking suit cases to the car, and they had deactivated my room keycard. Room was dated - needed painting, carpet, stains, older furniture. Bed was fair, shower pressure ok, the TV and a/c worked well.

BED BUGS!! During our stay on the last day my daughter found a bug on the bathroom floor ,later in the main bedroom she said there’s another one of those bugs on the bed so I go to look , my mother was also there to witness this and it was a bed bug so i immediately killed it and started looking the room over to see if there were more, I called the resort to report it ,they sent someone up to apparently look for more bugs , while I was waiting for her and checking the room I kept finding stains and crud on parts of the walls so I started taking pictures, I showed the lady they sent up all the walls and told her about the bugs my daughter also confirmed she saw them and I pointed out if they did a decent cleaning after the last guest the walls shouldn’t be this way and I shouldn’t have found bed bugs , the lady didn’t even check the beds or try to see if there were more she basically looked at the walls I pointed out and left then the office calls and says there’s nothing they can do ,that they don’t have bed bugs,so I told her 3 of us saw them and the lady didn’t even check the beds to see if there were more ! She said well you have kids the stuff on the walls must be from them. I told her we were only in the room to sleep and shower so there’s no way they stained the walls that much and she said I should have reported it the first day, I wasn’t paying attention to all the walls until we saw the bugs but there’s no way they could have caused that many wall stains when we were barley in room. And 3 of us saw the bed bugs ,I also told her there were several other reports of bedbugs here on TripAdvisor and other sites ,she flat out said no there isn’t so I offered to come show her the reviews myself and she hung up! We paid a good amount of money to stay here and were treated terribly and now have to worry about bringing bed bugs home. I will never stay here again and i wouldn’t recommend anyone else stay there, had they been nice and tried to fix the issue it wouldn’t be a problem but they were rude , accusing and in denial about their reviews about having bed bugs and hung up when i offered to show them reviews , DO BETTER!!! I work customer service and they should be appalled at theirs ! The most concerning thing is they didn’t even check the beds and I’m worried someone else will have the same issue

What an awesome place to stay. Very clean and beds were the comfiest we’ve ever stayed in. Has everything to cook in your unit. There wasn’t a stove in ours but we didn’t need one. The bathroom was big with great water pressure and temperature. We stayed in ROOM 446. The WiFi was great and view of river peaceful. We really enjoyed our day just hanging out in the lazy river. Felt like a real vacation. It was nice to also have a washer and dryer in the unit. The coffee pot/k cup machine combo was perfect. I would give you all 10 ⭐️
